Anime is good for you!

Sometimes I feel like one of those ancient Beowulf kind of guys who has to trace back his whole lineage and great deeds any time he introduces himself somewhere… Not that I do a lot of introductions, but in my head I always trace back what I probably call my roots… something ridiculous like, “I Joseph

Anathem Erikson the First trace my lineage back to my parents before me when, from my earliest memories, they taught me the importance of The Legend of Zelda and the Adventure of Link.  At the ripe age of seven my father displayed to me the magnificence that is Final Fantasy IV and when I was finally of age they handed me the ultimate thing that could possibly exist, the legendary Final Fantasy VII, which took me years to fully comprehend.  From that point I was on my own, yet I was strong enough and henceforth did I triumph over countless games, manga, and anime to grow to the level you see me on as I stand before you now!”  And then some mighty Norse king steps down off his throne in awe of my awesomeness and asks, “Is it true that Sephiroth’s first physical appearance in Final Fantasy VII isn’t until the party reaches the northern crater on disk two?”

Haha yeah, like I said that was a ridiculous opening… but I was only thinking about that stuff because I was thinking of how I magically went back in time to 10th grade today except I found a sweet place to buy anime...  Well... because I had to kill over 4 hours to wait for a Sigma meeting in the afternoon before, so I decided to go for a nice stroll around main street in hackettstown.

haha I even went in that 'Delectable Collectibles' shop that I put the postcard advertisements from in this xanga just to see what it really was.  (It was lame btw)  So the last place I went was this video rental place that I'd been to once before with Denise and I remembered they had a ton of anime (many of which were Hentai!!) so I wanted to look.  So while I was checking them out the guy that owns the place started talking to me and showing me his collection of anime that was for sale and it was two big boxes of DVDs that were $4 a piece... So I was tempted enough that I was planning on definitely buying one of those when he shows me that under the table he's got a bunch of huge cardboard boxes filled with VHS tapes he was selling for $1 a piece (and he said he had more boxes than that in the back.)  Most of my anime collection is on VHS since we didn't have any newfangled DVDs way back in 10th grade when I would spend all my money on anime and as I cracked one of the boxes open I felt like I was in 10th grade except that the tapes were 20 - 25 times less expensive!  So I only even looked at the first box I opened since it had freakin' every Tenchi Muyo! tape there is and I've been wanting to rewatch that for a while now since I only saw it when it first aired on Cartoon Network 6 years ago.  So I bought the entire original series and a couple of the specials and it only cost me $12.

 Freakin' awesome.

So yeah, I know that's a pretty pointless xanga entry... but.... aren't they all?

If only 5 infinitely compassionate, unimaginably wise individuals with magic powers could heal all the ills of the world...

Ignore the old tour dates, not the picture.

http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE49C7EI20081013?rpc=64 - Despite them all claiming its an econmic meltdown, Bush & Congress still found it of utmost important to elect a Copyright Protection Czar (WTF? That's a word you use in a democracy these days?) because lining the pockets of greedy corporations is clearly for the good of every American.  I'm sure they're losing tons of money they could have exploited from creative people because of  "consumers" downloading things they wouldn't have paid money for and only got it because it was free.  Worst part of this: the Czar can invade your privacy and force Internet Service Providers to give up the names and IP addressses of their users.  Why isn't anyone protecting the free internet?  They want to take it away under the guise of security and criminalizing its users.
